09.05.09: Max as he is nicknamed,is seen as one of the most talented players from Spain. Alex is a great talent from Romania, he is considered the next Romanian ?number 10? (the number has traditionally been worn by great players of the national team such as Hagi and Mutu). Until recently he was playing for Espanyol Barcelona U-19?s however he has now been promoted to the second team. He arrived at Espanyol in 2007 after successfully demonstrating his talent on a 10 day test period in which he impressed the youth team coaches with his level of ability and skill. Incidentally another great young talent in the form of goalkeeper Bogdan Moldovan was also retained. Both of these players played for the Football School Ardealul, one of the best football schools from Romania. Alex was born at Piatra Neamt in Romania but when he was 12 his parents went to Italy to work due to financial problems. Alex however continued to play football in his city till he was 15. During this period he was spotted by a coach who offered him a free place at the Football School Ardealul. He stayed there for two years until 2007 when during a youth tournament from Spain he was seen by an official of the Catalan club. For the U-19 team he has played in the second part of the 07/08 season, quickly gaining a place in the squad after arriving. His most important moment came this summer when he scored a goal in the 85th minute in the final of the Spanish Championship against Villareal CF U-19?s , helping his team to win their first trophy in the youth category. Alex plays as an AMC and is the play-maker of the team. He has developed into an integral part of the U-19?s team and has only missed only 2 or 3 matches (due to some medical problems). (Fremdangabe)
