'The Carlow Academy' is an after school second level educational based Academy of Excellence for study, grinds, revision courses, career guidance and educational talks where our main aim is to change lives through education and to drive academic success for our students in a happy & safe learning environment.
WE ARE HERE TO HELP STUDENTS FROM 1ST YEAR TO 6TH YEAR TO GET INTO A CONSISTENT STUDY ROUTINE BY BECOMING A MEMBER IN OUR VERY SPACIOUS AND SAFE PREMISES. WE HAVE 4 LARGE SEPARATED ZONES FOR STUDY.

Location: 134 Tullow Street, Carlow Town, R93 T291Study centre opening hours each week:
Mondays to Thursdays: 4:15pm -8:30pm Study (includes a 15 minute break from 6:15pm-6:30pm)
Fridays: 2:00pm-6:15pm Study (includes a 15 minute break from 4:00pm-4:15pm)
Saturdays: 10:00am-2:15pm Study (includes a 15 minute break from 12:00pm-12:15pm)
Students are recommended to bring small healthy snacks in a lunch box and a bottle of water to help keep them focused throughout the study sessions.
There must be minimal disruption to all members in the study centre at all times.

IMPORTANT HEALTH & SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. If you, your son(s) and/or daughter(s) have any symptoms that may be coronavirus related then all family members and contact people are strongly advised to stay at home and seek medical advice immediately before returning to ‘The Carlow Academy’.
2. If this happens, please inform us of the situation in the interest of the health and safety of all staff and students.
3. All members & their parents must fill out a Covid related signed ‘Declaration of Health Form’ before entering The Carlow Academy to once again help ensure that all staff and students are protected from the spread of the virus.

This will include extra notes for further understanding, useful website links & videos, past mock papers & high quality sample answers + much more. Also this forum will allow students & Tutors to contact one another via the online Edmodo messaging service if there are any questions, if a student is absent or just to check in on progress being made
**Any important special offers or announcements will be advertised here first to give our members first preference to all programmes due to take place at the Academy
**Be able to see a comprehensive useful educational website links for members to access once logged in as well as being able to view all useful uploaded video clips which will apply to all subject areas
**There will be a S.A.S.K. (Students Actively Sharing Knowledge) discussion forum facility e.g. where students can upload notes, share resources as well as suggestions and ideas with one another, offer and receive support in many subject areas etc. Collaboration makes it easier.
**Lots more will be available such as advice on key study techniques, study templates + samples of best exam practice in many different subject areas are all included for members only.
*Please note: The ‘members only’ material is not to be shared with anyone who is not a registered Academy member. If it comes to the attention of the Academy that this trust has been broken; then that particular member will be removed from the login system with immediate effect and may even be removed from the Academy itself.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to ‘The Carlow Academy’. We are based in the former ‘World of Wonder’ premises at 134 Tullow Street just above the Bookstation store. We spent the past few months completely renovating the building to a high standard so that it could become a safe and welcome place of after school study, grinds and much more for all the secondary school students of Carlow Town and the surrounding towns and counties. Our aim is to provide an inspiring educational experience that is innovative and responsive to your son/daughter’s needs and that is academically focused for all members of The Carlow Academy. Assistance is given to your son/daughter to help them achieve academically in a happy, safe and secure environment.
Education and the importance of learning and teaching experience in the life of the student is a key focus of the team of educators here at The Carlow Academy. We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment and we will endeavour to help your son/daughter to reach their full potential.
Our motto is one word, “T.E.A.M.”, meaning ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’. Teamwork is an essential part of everyday life and it is very important to us here at The Carlow Academy that all our members feel part of a team by helping and respecting one another.
